You and You Alone

Love…
…has changed all my perceptions. With my eyes I see more beauty. With my nose I smell more delights. Hearing your voice soothes me. Speaking your name rouses my heart. I have yet to be able to intelligently describe the taste of your lips.

Irish novelist, short-story writer and poet George Moore
stolen senses IIThe hours I spend with you
I look upon as sort
of a perfumed garden,
a dim twilight,
and a fountain
singing to it.
You and you alone
make me feel
that I am alive.
Other men it is said
have seen angels,
but I have seen thee
and thou art enough.

So This Is Love

Love…
…is taking me where I’ve not been before. At times you leave me barely able to speak. At others you inspire me to write about my love for you with a depth and quantity I have never expressed to anyone before.

From “So This Is Love” from Cinderella (David/Hoffman/Livingston)

is love.
So this
is what
makes life
divine.
I’m all
aglow,
And now
I know
the key
to all heaven
is mine.

I’ll Wait For You

Love…
…makes my heart yours. Hindsight always seems so clear while what’s ahead appears to be obscured in fog. Time is slowly vaporizing like hazy mist in the morning sun and one day, I too, will evaporate back to where I once came from. If I am the first to go, I’ll wait for you there.

heart,
can you
hear it
sing:
Come
back
to me
and forgive
everything.

Take the Chance

Love…
…says break down the walls, overcome your fear and take the chance. Speak your heart and tell the one you love how you feel. You will end up with no less than before and it’s possible you’ll find what you hoped for.

From “Sense and Sensibility” by English Novelist Jane Austin

with no
expectations,
only
to profess,
now that
I am at liberty
to do so,
that my heart
is
and
always
will be
yours.

No Longer Separable

Love…
…can shine a brilliance so bright it blinds the heart. Such is the magic when two people become one. Dream and reality, hope and happening; wish and occurrence are no longer separable.

From “Love Song” by American writer Mary Carolyn Davies
flat,550x550,075,fAll the wishes
of my mind know
your name,
And the white desires
of my heart
They are acquainted
with you.
The cry of my body
for completeness,
That is a cry
to you.
My blood beats out
your name to me,
Unceasing, pitiless—
Your name,
your name.

Perfect To Me

Love…
…looks past most imperfection and focuses away from fault. The mind does the opposite. So, I don’t think about you much and choose instead to just feel you in my heart. There you are near perfect.

loved

Like Oxygen

Love…
… makes a home without your presence seem ordinary and lacking. It is in your absence I realize the depth of my feelings and that you have become to my heart like oxygen is to my lungs.

From “In Your Eyes” by Tony DeLorger

and within you I see myself,
a reflection of my hopes, my dreams,
brought to me within the arms of love.
You presence to me is serenity,
the knowing that I am here,
that I exist and I am whole
within the silence of dreams.
Near is all I want to be,
for it is you who gives me hope…

Above All Things

Love…
…narrows space and lessens burdens. It brightens day and enraptures night. Love knows no boundary, specific language or government. It is above all things created by humankind.

True and Deepest Love

Love…
…makes me unafraid with you. I’m at peace when I drift off to sleep with you next to me knowing that you’d protect me with all that you are, even to death if it was required. I would do the same for you without a second thought.

Full Acceptance

Love…
…drives me to know only the person you truly are. Please do not change because you think you need to. It is the height and depth of the real you that I want in my heart; nothing else.

means
letting go

It means
full acceptance,
even celebration
of another’s
personhood.
