Undeserving As I Am

I thought I had lost you forever. It was my fault you turned your back on me; deservedly so. But now that you have found me my world is unexpectedly filled with new possibility. Undeserving as I am, my spirit soars with gratitude.

From “Dear John” by American novelist and screenwriter, Nicholas Sparksheart-puzzle-

you claimed

my heart,
one
I’ll carry

forever
and that
no one

ever replace.

It’s Been Years Now

It’s been years now of this weaving back together and then drifting apart. In time, always difficult to keep going, and always far too difficult to ever completely stop. Sometime love just “IS”.

too much for someone,
that the only
next possible step
to do is to stop.
Leave them alone.
Walk away.
It’s not like
you’re giving up,
and it’s not like
you shouldn’t try.
It’s just that you
have to draw the line
of determination
from desperation.
What is truly yours
will eventually be yours,
and what is not,
no matter how hard you try,
will never be.

Ready

My heart was broken, then shattered again and a third time, and more. I settled. I was hurt by staying where I shouldn’t have. I spent years alone. I learned. I healed. I grew. So by the time you came along I was ready to love and be loved.

The Pondered Question

In my dreams I’ve seen you turn with your long hair tossing to cover your face. I have felt you, but never sure if close by or far away. You exist, of that I am certain. Will I ever meet you remains the pondered question.

From “Love & Misadventure” by novelist and poet Lang Leav
face never seen 02There is a love I reminisce,
like a seed
I’ve never sown.
Or lips that I am yet to kiss,
and eyes
not met my own.
Hands that wrap around my wrists,
and arms
that feel like home.
I wonder how it is I miss
these things
I’ve never known.

Innocence of Youth

We are a story told long ago to heart and soul. A couple of chapters is all we wrote, though, there is the most unbridled love ever I allowed myself. In that innocence of youth there was such fire, such stars and such passion; never to be forgotten, forevermore.

We Keep Trying

I am connected to you and always will be. We drift apart and come back together, each time a little closer. So many differences and yet so much love. And so we keep trying for each other, even in those times we part.

Eternal and True

Loving you does not mean I don’t see your faults and shortcomings. Well aware of many, I easily choose not to notice them hardly at all. That I can love you for a thousand things and barely notice a few dozen makes my love for you eternal and true.

Lean In

The experience of my heart urges caution. My memory says be careful. My spirit says “lean in” and let yourself be known. I hesitate. Yet there is something about you that attracts me like iron to a magnet.
