In Its Fullest Dimensions

Love…
…is known when no words are spoken; felt when you are not near; seen when night is darkest black; smelled in a scentless room and tasted without need for flavor. It is within my sixth sense, the intuition of my heart, where love is known in its full dimensions.

“Come Slowly” by American poet Emily Dickinson
Come slowly, Eden
Lips unused to thee.
Bashful, sip thy jasmines,
As the fainting bee,
Reaching late his flower,
Round her chamber hums,
Counts his nectars, alights,
And is lost in balms!

Illuminates the Dark

I love…
…that the foundation of what we share is true friendship. Such a bond gives a firm footing for what we feel for each other. Such a love is not fleeting because it rests on solid ground.

From “Everything” by an on-line author pennamed ‘Ann Marie’
Just when I think I’ve lost my way
Something illuminates the dark
There you are leading the way
Love shining from your heart.
Your smile and laugh urge me on
And encourage me to be strong.
Your loving support helps me stand
When the road is rough and long.

You Are a Flower

I love…
…learning about you and coming to know more fully the person you are. Like a flower one must know you for a long time to see you fully in bloom.

Taken from “Falling in Love” by Freida Martinez
My love
blooms for you
like a flower in spring
like a piece of art
it’s a beautiful thing.
I hold to it gently
and feel its light glow
into my heart.

To Recognize Love

I love…
…that when I wake up in the morning a thought of you finds me soon after. Mentally I say “good morning” every time with hope the day is kind to you.

Contemporary Slovenian poet and artist Jaka Zeleznikar
It’s so easy,
To think about Love,
To Talk about Love,
To wish for Love,
But it’s not always easy,
To recognize Love,
Even when we hold it
In our hands.”

Learn the Song

I love…
…better, deeper and more profoundly with age, yet with more trepidation and fear. While I am cautious beyond explanation I am grateful you got past my defenses and opened my heart to know love again.

By an anonymous author
To love
a person
is to learn
the song
that is in their heart,
and to sing it to them
when they
have forgotten.

One Moment Longer

I love…
…your soft hands and the gentle way you touch me. Such tenderness can only come from a deeply kind and compassionate heart.

Taken from “ONE MOMENT LONGER” by Jim Nolan
May I embrace you
One moment longer
So that hugging
Becomes Holding.
May our brief touches last
One moment longer
So that aching
Becomes Caressing.
May my heart be in the presence
Of your heart
One moment longer
So that longing
Becomes Loving.

Love What You’ve Got

I love…
…how patient you are with me when I get off on tangents and just talk and talk. Thank you for your indulgence and the caring heart that has tolerance for some of my not so good traits.

Quoted frequently but written by an author unknown
You’ve got to take
The good with the bad,
Smile with the sad,
Love what you’ve got,
And remember what you had.
Always forgive,
But never forget.
Learn from mistakes,
But never regret.

When You Return To me

I love…
…the way we linger when we’re saying goodbye when one of us has to be away for a few days. Neither is in a big hurry to leave and the last kiss happens at least two or three times before we separate.

“I’ll Be Waiting” – Author Unknown
Look
out
to
the
horizon,
A whole world lies beyond.
The path of life shall guide you
And move you swiftly on.
There’s new things to discover
And unseen sights to see
But always I’ll be waiting
For when you return to me.

More Is Said Silently

I love…
…how our eyes make contact sometimes and hold each other in a gaze for a few seconds. More is said silently then than can often be expressed in words.

American preacher, author and writer Leroy Brownlow
There
are
times
when
silence
has
the
loudest
voice.

Chance to Love Enough

I love…
…that we willingly take on the unsettled times in our relationship and do our best to share with each other what is going on; how we feel; what we need and hope for. It’s not always easy, but we grow by doing it.

American singer, actress, and TV personality, Dinah Shore
Trouble
is a part of your life,
and if you don’t share it,
you don’t give the person
who loves you
enough chance
to love you enough.
