What This Is All About

Love…
…comes from hope and possibility. It sprouts unexpectedly and unplanned. It grows with patience and understanding. It blossoms with attraction and desire. It fruits with truth and faithfulness.

asian woman white manLove is what joins
Love is what flows
Love is what counts
Love is what grows
Love is what’s known.
Love is all around
Love is all about
Love is all we ask
Love is all we give
Love is all I have.
Love wants nothing
Love needs nothing
Love misses nothing
Love excludes nothing
Love is what this is all about.

The Sparkling In My Eyes

Love…
…brings a rise in my chest and fills me with a warm expanding inward glow when we embrace. There is a connection at such moments I can’t explain but I am certain anyone who looks can see the sparkling in my eyes long after.

From “On the Jellicoe Road” by Melinda Marchetta
When I turn around,
he cups my face in his hands
and he kisses me so deeply
that I don’t know
who is breathing for who,
but his mouth
and tongue taste
like warm honey.
I don’t know how long it lasts,
but when I let go of him,
I miss it already.

Jagged and Irregularly Drawn

Love…
…is not a straight line between two people. It is a connection jagged and irregularly drawn. Only with open communication and truth do the crooked lines of adoration not trip and twist the two apart.

From “Have I Ever Told You” by Gianella Ramirez
Have I ever
told you
when
the soft wind
caresses my face
I think it is you,
blowing me
sweet kisses
from where
you stand?

Momentary Lack of Awareness

Love…
…makes me a little goofy sometimes when we kiss. Right after it’s as if I’ve become slightly intoxicated with a momentary lack of awareness of where we are.

From song ” I Said My Pajamas” by Eddie Pola and George Wyle
I climbed up the door
and opened the stairs,
Said my pajamas
and put on my prayers,
Then I turned off the bed
and crawled into the light
All because
you kissed me goodnight!
