I Love How You Love Me

I love…
…when you feel a bit lost, weighed down or out of sorts you don’t ask me to fix your problem.  Usually all you need is to know I love you and for me to listen in order for you to find the answers you’re looking for.

From song “I Love How You Love Me” by Mann & Kolber
I  love how your eyes close
Whenever you kiss me
And when I’m away from you
I love how you miss me
I love the way you always
Treat me tenderly
But darlin’ most of all
I love how you love me

Worthy, Prized and Loved

I love…
…the tenderness of your touch and how softly your fingers stroke my hands and face.  You make me feel worthy, prized and loved.

From “The Things He Said to Her” by Richard Whitman
I love
The heart of you,
So tender;
The mind of you,
So broad and strong…
I love you
For the way
You look into my eyes,
Sailing your very self
Into the harbor of my longing.

Never Would Have Imagined

I love…
…the softness in your lips, the sweetness in your kisses, the closeness in your hugs and the warmth of your body close against mine.

By a writer unknown
..when I met you,
I never would have imagined
that I would have such strong
feelings for you.  I never would
have thought that I would have
dreams about you, or miss being
by your side, or get butterflies
in my stomach when someone
mentions your name.

Without You It’s Blurry

I love…
… when it is time for you to leave, for even for just a few hours, how you always hang back for a few extra minutes, holding me and saying without a word how much I mean to you.

From “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John and Bernie Taupin
You’re my star,
My light,
My whole entire life.
Without you it’s blurry,
And I can’t see why…
… I just think
That I’m dreaming
All night…

Each Extreme Strengthens the Other

I love…
…the feeling inside that loving you brings to me.  There is fervor, intensity and passion balanced with peace, stability and contentment.  Each extreme strengthens the other.

You are
The sun
In my day,
The wind
In my sky,
The waves
In my ocean,
And the beat
Of my heart.

Knowing That Nothing

I love…
…how you linger when we embrace and kiss.  The way you hesitate and never seem to want to part makes me feel loved, needed and desired. Thank you.

From “My Vow To You” by Earl J. Dawson Jr.
When you are sad,
I will dry your tears.
When you are scared,
I will comfort your fears.
When you need love,
My heart I will share.
When you are sick,
For you I will care.
You will feel my love
When we are apart,
Knowing that nothing
Will change my heart.

The Full Sense of Sweetness

I love…
…how beautifully stunning you were last night:  a dazzling aura around you, a graceful light in your smile, a charming manner about you, an elegant sparkle from your eyes, a sweet warmth in your embrace.  I love how loving me looks on you.

Robert Browning to Elizabeth Barrett May 25, 1846
…every now and then
the full sense of the sweetness
collects itself
and overcomes me entirely,
as now…
I am blessed by you
in a hundred unspeakable ways…

Waked for Me Alone

I love…
…how you put your head on my shoulder and snuggle up close against me on the couch when we watch TV together.

From “Love Thee” by Eliza Acton
I love thee, as I love the calm
    Of sweet, star-lighted hours!
I love thee, as I love the balm
    Of early jasmine flowers.
I love thee, as I love the last
    Rich smile of fading day,
Which lingereth, like the look we cast,
    On rapture passed away.
I love thee as I love the tone
    Of some soft-breathing flute
Whose soul is waked for me alone,
    When all beside is mute.

A Spark of Heavenly Fire

I love…
…how good with money you are.  Thrifty but not cheap… a saver but not a miser… economical but not overly frugal.  Most women could take lessons from you about how to get the most out of what they have!

By Washington Irving from “The Sketch Book”
There is in every true woman’s heart,
A spark of heavenly fire,
Which lies dormant
In the broad daylight of prosperity,
But which kindles up
And beams and blazes
In the dark hour of adversity.

From the Inside Out

I love…
…how open we are with each other.  This experience of falling in love with someone I already knew a lot about is very different and rewarding.  Getting to know you from the inside out is a whole new way of being for me.
