Don’t give up. Hang it there. I am in this relationship for keeps. Whatever it takes, I’ll be here. Please forgive my shortcomings and I will let yours fade. Let’s stay in love and be happy. Please…

My mind’s babbling is an over protective burden. It’s logic says our relationship is unlikely to survive long-term. But to those ramblings my heart and soul screams, “You’re wrong! We’re going to have a great life together.”
Someday, you’re going to meet someone who drives you mad, who you’re going to fight with and laugh with. Someone who you will share your deepest darkest secrets and past with, who you’ll do insane things for, someone, who is going to turn your life upside down. And when that time comes, don’t ever let them go and do everything in your power to keep them.
There is space between us right now. Stepping back to take stock of things is healthy for both of us. Already I know my feelings for you are even deeper than I thought before. All I can do is hope you are making similar discoveries.
Lebanese artist, poet, and writer Kahlil Gibran
Let there be spaces
in your togetherness,
and let the winds of
the heavens dance
Love one another but
make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a
moving sea between
of your souls.
I get afraid at times. I fret that I might love you too much and you might not love me enough. Regardless, I am facing my fears. They are about my past and not about you. With all the love I am capable my heart is open to you.
I am frequently filled with love more so than ever before. I care so much it scares me. It’s unimaginable now to even consider going on without you. So when I’m afraid I will push myself through my fear by believing in you and our dreams.
Canadian author, journalist and editor Merle Shain
cost a lot
but not loving
always costs more,
and those who
fear to love
often find that
want of love
is an emptiness
Can you love me as much as I love you? Can you express your emotions freely? Don’t be afraid! Every loving thought uttered or shown will come back to you multiplied. The more you open yourself to me, the more open to you I become.
19th Century English Romantic poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning
How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee
to the depth
My soul can reach…
I love thee freely…
I love thee purely…
I love thee
with the breath,
of all my life!
…feeling romance in my heart again. It has touched me deeply with its sparkle of hope. Come what may I am grateful to know I still have the ability to fall in love. Thank you for showing me how.
From “Falling In Love Again’ by Alek House
I’d crept into the deepest darkest place,
Where life and love no longer saw my face.
My heart was cold, my very soul was dead.
My only solace, memories in my head.
You came to me and caught me unaware,
And unprepared, I fell into your lair.
I struggled as you crawled into my mind,
Afraid of what your loving me might find.
And as I stayed resistant to your touch
You never turned away, instead t’was such
an oh so gentle nudging at my soul
that woke me with your ever sweet cajole.
